UniFi Access — Door & Building Access Control

Whole-Home & Whole-Building Audio

Multi-room audio wired into the same network infrastructure as everything else — no separate wireless mesh fighting your Wi-Fi for bandwidth. Streaming, zoned control, in-ceiling or in-wall speakers, sized to the room and the budget.

Good for: new builds and renovations, acreage properties, offices and retail spaces wanting background/zoned audio.

UniFi Protect Sensors & Super Link Gateway

Motion sensors, glass-break detection, and door/window contacts — all tied together through the Super Link Gateway into the same UniFi Protect console as your cameras. One alert feed, one app, one system, instead of a cameras app and a separate alarm-panel app.

Good for: homes and businesses wanting real alarm-style coverage (not just cameras) without adding a second monitoring vendor or subscription.

Can UniFi Access and Protect share the same cameras and hardware?

Yes — Access and Protect run on the same UniFi console, so a door event can trigger camera recording automatically without any separate integration work.

Do I need to run new cable for whole-home audio, or can it work with an existing UniFi network?

It depends on the layout. If you already have a solid wired backbone from your network install, we can often tie audio into the same runs. Older or wireless-only setups usually need dedicated low-voltage cabling for the best sound and reliability.

Do motion and glass-break sensors work with the cameras I already have?

Yes — if you’re on UniFi Protect, sensors connect through the Super Link Gateway and show up in the same app, and can trigger camera recording on the affected zone automatically.

Is this a true alarm system, or just sensors?

It functions as a real alarm layer — motion, glass-break, and door/window contacts all feed into Protect’s alert system — without a separate alarm panel or third-party monitoring subscription layered on top.
